Panasonic announces water-loving HX-WA10
Anyone for a swim?
Just when we were starting to think that nothing else was going on in the gadget world outside of Mobile World Congress, Panasonic has saved the day by kicking off its annual Convention in London.
The electronics giant’s big product showcase is always good for a few juicy new bits of kit, and one of the first to have caught our roving eye this year is its new HX-WA10 all-weather camcorder.
Panasonic doesn’t have a long history with pistol-grip cams, but you wouldn’t think so from looking at the WA10. It’s good for an hour spent under as much as 3m of water, and shoots top-notch full HD clips using a new BSI sensor technology, which Panny says is an evolution of CMOS designed to up the sensitivity for better outdoor versatility.
You can watch your filmic creations on the 2.7in LCD, and can also shoot impressive 16-megapixel stills via a dedicated photo shutter release button.
We haven’t heard anything yet about price and availability, but will keep our ears to the ground for more.
