Palm's latest touchscreen swaps slide out keyboard for candybar curves.

While we’re still waiting to actually get our mitts on the Pre, Palm’s touch screen comeback kid that was unveiled in January, shoppers Stateside have got a shiny new handset to coo over.

The Pixi looks a lot like the Pre but there’s no slide out keyboard – it’s just your traditional candybar design – but there’s still a full Qwerty tapper to punch out your prose on.

The screen is a little smaller too, measuring just 2.63-inch, but you still get all the extra WebOS magic from Palm’s latest mobile operating system. Under hood it’s fitted with all the mobile must haves like GPS, Bluetooth and 8GB of on board storage, all crammed into a svelte 99.5g and measuring just 10.85mm thin.

As to when we’ll actually see one this side of the pond, Palm is being a little coy. It’ll hit the States in December and while Palm has fessed up it’ll be heading to Europe at some point it’s keeping schtum as to when exactly that’ll be.
