Palm Pre finally hits the UK today!
It's taken seemingly forever in tech years, but the Palm Pre is finally in Blighty!
It feels like its taken longer for the Palm Pre to reach these shores than it takes to get through a Kevin Costner double bill at your local multiplex (trust us that feels like an eternity!), but the wait is now over. Today is the day that the Palm Pre hits the UK. Read on for all the details.
The Palm Pre has been selling State-side for a good few months now, but finally we in Blighty will be able to get to grips with the webOS phone as of today courtesy of O2. The touchscreen handset is Palm’s attempt at stealing away some of the smartphone limelight that’s been shining on the iPhone for what it deems far too long.
And the weapons it’s using to do that? Well, you probably know all the details by now, but just for the record it sports a 3.1-inch touchscreen, a full QWERTY slide-out keypad, the super-easy webOS interface and 8GB of storage.
And the all-important tariff details? Well, you’ll be able to snaffle up the Palm Pre for ‘free’ on a 24 month contract or £96.89 on a cheaper 18-month contract.
So will you shun the iPhone in favour of the Palm Pre? Let us know in the comments section…

Got far too much love for my iPhone 3GS - the Layars augmented reality app is so amazing :) Has anyone cut themselves on the Pre's sharp edges yet - I can't believe there hasn't been a lawsuit in the US yet (they love a lawsuit over there ...)

No way! Just got my iPhone 3GS and I LOVE it! Plus Palm are evil and trying to break into itunes to make the pre sync with it. Which is out of order...make your own flamin programme you cheapskates! Its like ordering a car from Mercedes but asking for a BMW engine to be fitted at the mercedes dealership...what are they going to say??? Umm...NO!

I bought a 32 g 3gs back in Sept but had to take it back due to O2 coverage being not too hot in my area. The iphone though was the best and most user friendly deice i have had in a long time. The Pre would seem like a step backwards just using a Keyboard is a bit old style theses days. I also have a Samsung Toca which being a touch was great but i'm waiting on Orange or Vodafone to start rolling out the iphone. Yes i heard about the sharp edges too on the Pre ? No such luck on the iphone its smoooth!
