Palm Pre 2 officially unveiled
The Palm Pre 2 - out this week in France
HP has finally put speculation to rest and gone official with the Palm Pre 2, dishing out full specs and detailed pics of the hotly anticipated WebOS 2.0 device.
The Pre 2 hype kicked into overdrive last week when a French mobile network briefly put up a product page for the new handset, revealing a level of detail that suggested a launch date wasn’t far away.
And it turns out the speculation was spot on, with the Pre 2 set to debut in France as soon as Friday, though no details have been dished out just as yet on a UK release date.
As the first fully realised vision of HP’s plans for the smartphone arena going forward, the Pre 2 boasts an interesting set of features, starting of course with WebOS 2.0, which adds a host of tweaks to Palm’s OS including improved multitasking, and more efficient integration with social networks.
The apple hasn’t fallen too far from the tree on the design front, with the QWERTY-sliding Pre 2 closely resembling its predecessor. It features a 3.1in HVGA screen, 16GB of storage, in-built GPS, as well as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Exchange support.

it's just unfortunate that the people on the gadget show don't know anything about technology. they always back the worst hardware.

My Pre+ is awesome. The Pre2 is even better and webOS 2.0 blows other mobile OS's away (including iPhone). The only true multitasking is on webOS.
