The Orange Solar Tent: bringing camping into the 21st Century

Looking like some weird futuristic snail shell, the Orange Solar Tent is still only a concept tent, but it could change your visits to Glastonbury forever.

The Orange Solar Tent makes other tents look like camping equipment from the Middle Ages, with its photovoltaic fabric covering three directional glides. Designed in collaboration with American product design consultancy Kaleidoscope, the Orange Solar Tent would make sure all your tech has its charging needs delivered. The aforementioned glides move throughout the day to capture as much of the sun’s power beams as possible.

Elsewhere, the Orange Solar Tent will feature something called “glo-cation” technology (we see what they did there) that will help the campers track the location of their tent using their mobile phones. Send a text and the tent will start glowing so you can spot it in the dark.
