Optoma GameTime projectors raise their game
Optoma puts its gaming hat on with its GameTime projector range
Forty-two inches not big enough for you? How about 300 inches? That’s the size of the picture thrown out by the Optoma GameTime GT-7000 and GT-3000 DLP-chipped projectors.
Designed predominantly for gaming, these highly portable beamers provide an awesome gaming experience thanks to the lightning-fast response times, high contrast and vivid colours. They also come with 2.1 speakers and an integrated subwoofer for a sound so loud and thumping it’ll drown out the voices in your head.
The GT-3000 is available in an ice-white finish – designed to complement the Nintendo Wii – and has a 2000:1 contrast ratio and an ultra-bright 2300 lumens. It’ll cost around £349.
But if you’re more of a PS3 or Xbox 360 fan, then you’ll want a Hi-Def experience. Step forward the GT-7000. Dressed in piano-black, this HD-ready projector has a 4000:1 contrast ratio and 1600 lumens brightness, and will set you back just shy of a demi-grand.
They’re not just all about the fragging though. These projectors can also hook up with pretty much any device, including DVD players, set-top boxes, digital cameras, iPods and PCs. But the best bit? They come with a purpose-built back pack for storing it in and carrying around. Handy indeed.
