Onkyo high-end Blu-ray player heading to a shop near you
Although it’s not the cheapest kit in the world, we like Onkyo products, as they tend to be well made and offer a decent set of features. The Onkyo BD-SP809 is a good example – at £500 it’s pretty expensive for a Blu-ray player, but it does have a lot to offer.
You’ll find a quality metal case, for a start, and the Onkyo BD-SP809 features a stylish minimalist design. Most of your £500 goes on the features within this player, however.
It offers the ability to upscale your standard DVDs for a start, with 1080p images on offer via Qdeo visual processing tech, along with noise reduction for better sound quality.
There’s a USB port on the back of the Onkyo BD-SP809, and the player is capable of recognising and playing DivX HD files, MP3 and WMA files from your memory stick or portable flash drive.
Along with offering top quality Full HD images, this Blu-ray player also offers everything you need when it comes to sound, with DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD formats both supported.
