Now Gucci gets behind 3D

The Gadget Show  Tuesday 02 November 2010

Now Gucci gets behind 3D Here's looking at you... in 3D

Oakley’s Tron-styled 3D shades certainly float our Gadget Show boat, but if your own fashion sensibilities are a little more subtle, you might prefer Gucci’s own take on the 3D glasses concept.

The chic aviator-style Gucci 3D shades do little to give away their high-tech credentials, and for the most part resemble little more than a pair of high-fashion sun specs, complete with obligatory Gucci branding.

Boasting “optically correct” six-base curved lenses, which according to Gucci “virtually eliminate” eye-straining crosstalk, these funky shades also come with a multi-layer mirrored coating on the lenses, which not only looks cool but will allow you to admire your Gucci-loving face in the mirror without any distortion.

High fashion comes at a high price, of course – especially when it comes attached to a label like Gucci. It’ll cost US fashionistas $225 to be the coolest cat in the cinema when the Gucci 3D shades go on sale just before Christmas. Hopefully we’ll find them lurking around the local boutiques in the UK too early in the new year.
