Nook e-reader goes the Android route
The Nook - the latest e-reader to get unveiled - sports Google's operating system
E-readers are the gadget-creators tech du jour. Barely a day goes by without a new one popping up. Toady it’s the turn of the Nook e-reader. But what makes the Nook stand out from the crowd? It’s powered by Google’s awesome operating system Android, that’s what.
Aside from sporting one of the most user-friendly operating systems around, the Nook has got the backing of Barnes & Noble – a massive bookselling company in the US. The alliance sees some nice twists as well. You can only use the Nook’s Wi-Fi, for instance, in a Barnes & Noble store. But that allows you to glance at all the digital books on offer. Other neat tricks include the ability to share ebooks for two weeks at a time with other Nooks.
Spec-wise the Nook has a 3.5-inch eInk colour display with a navigation style that’s very Cover Flow-esque. You also get that aforementioned Wi-Fi, 3G, MP3 playback and 2GB of internal storage that’s expandable via SD card so there will be no problems storing War & Peace on there.
The Nook is scheduled for a November release in the US with a $259 price tag (that’s around £160). Unfortunately there are no UK release dates planned just yet. But keep posted. If anything changes we’ll let you know.

I have been doing a lot of research into ebooks and I have narrowed it down to the amazon kindle and the nook. I would really like to purchase the nook wifi but I am still unsure as to whether it is available in the uk! and if not is there any chance of getting it from America? and how would i go about doing that?
