Nokia Ovi store opening with 20,000 items!
The Ovi Store will be preloaded on the Nokia N97
The Ovi Store – not a Jewish exclamation, but Nokia’s very own app store – will reportedly be launching with no less than 20,000 items when it opens later this month!
The Nokia Ovi Store may be coming into the app game a bit later than its rivals, but that’s still a phenomenal amount of items (although, apparently ‘items’ doesn’t necessarily mean apps) for launch. The figure makes the few hundred that Apple and RIM had the opening of their app stores seem small, and Android Markets few dozen positively minuscule.
So what can you expect from the Ovi Store? Well, it’ll offer apps for download, sure, but you’ll also be able to get short videos and other types of media files as well. It’ll even give you recommendations based on your preferences. It’s looking like it’ll be the perfect accompaniment to the Nokia N97 when it’s launched, which will come preloaded with the Ovi Store by the way. All of which makes us very appy indeed. Sorry.
