Nokia N97 Mini made official!

Fwd Tech  Wednesday 02 September 2009

Nokia N97 Mini made official! Over in Nokia World today, Nozza's just announced what most of us knew already: that the Nokia N97 Mini is real.

We’ve seen blurry snapshots of the Nokia N97 Mini plastered all over the internet like Hollyoaks posters plastered on a teenage boy’s wall. But it’s only now that Nokia World’s in full swing that Nokia’s put us out of our misery and confirmed the existence of the handset.

Specs-wise the Nokia N97 Mini will sport a 2.9-inch screen (that’s 0.6-inches smaller than its bigger bro’s) and will come with 8GB of storage (expandable up to 16GB via microSD card). There’s still that lovely five-megapixel camera for snapping, but Nozza’s done away with the lens cover.

What intrigues us the most is that keypad. The full-fat Nokia N97 wasn’t the easiest to use, so we’ll wait and see how the N97 Mini’s copes with its shrunk down proportions. And speaking of those shrunk down proportions it measures 113×52.5×14.2mm and weighs 138g.

That said, we were impressed with just how much Nokia squeezed into the N97, and likewise the N97 Mini. It’ll cost €450 and will be available later this year.

The n97 mini phone's QWERTY keyboard is one of the best I have seen on a phone. The spacing between buttons is ample. The buttons were still tactile, and I had absolutely no problems firing off e-mails and instant messages.More information from http://www.sourcinggate.com/mini-phone-c-374.html
