Nokia N8 gets UK price and release date
Nokia N8 – start saving now
The Nokia N8 will be arriving in the last week of September, Nokia has just confirmed. So far, we knew that the Symbian 3 smartphone was coming soon, but had no concrete date to look forward to. Read on for more info and pricing.
Nokia has confirmed “the last week in Spetember”, but hasn’t been any more precise than that. The touchscreen handset will be sold SIM-free and unlocked from Nokia’s online store for £429 (where you can pre-order), or on contract from £35 per month.
From 1 October, the Nokia N8 will then go on sale across other high-street vendors and online, at Carphone Warehouse, O2, Orange, Phones4u, T-Mobile, Tesco, Three Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone.
The Nokia N8 comes rocking a 12-megapixel camera, 3.5-inch touchscreen and Symbian 3 software, so will take the place of the Nokia N97 as the flagship smartphone.
What do you think? are you looking forward to the Nokia N97? Will it lure you away from iPhone and Android? Have your say below.

Unfortunately, Nokia has lost its way and it has not kept up with current consumer trends. It has been hubris and complacent in the way it has carried out its marketing. The N97 was a disastrous phone. It may have been a flagship - but it was equivalent to the Titanic. I always used Nokia phones until I got an N97. I could not get rid of it quick enough. I am now very happy with an iphone. Nokia seriously need to rationalise their phone offering. They produce 1001 phones and put 1/1001 of their efforts and ability into each one. If Nokia produced four different phones, which would be more than enough to meet the World's requirements, then their offering will improve. I honestly think the N8 is the last chance for Nokia in the smartphone market. They would be far better to make sure the phone is 200% perfect in its operation before launching it. If this means waiting until 2011, well so be it.
