The Nokia N79 Active Bundle comes with a heart rate monitor – you know, to monitor your heart

Kick obesity in the balls! That’s what we say. You know there’s a weight problem in the country when GMTV has resorted to bringing back the lycra-assassin – Mr Motivator. Another hint is when mobile phone companies start releasing fitness-related handsets, like this Nokia N79 Active Bundle.

The N79 is nothing new, and has been bouncing around since August last year. It has a five-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, an FM transmitter and a 4GB microSD card. So what makes it join the ranks of fitness gadgets out there? Well, it’s actually the bundled Polar Bluetooth WearLink heart rate belt that makes this the belly-vanisher it is.

You wear the belt whilst jogging and it monitors your performance in conjunction with the phone’s A-GPS function and Nokia Sports Tracker application, which give you progress updates on your performance.
