Nokia goes green with N8 and C7

Nokia's C7 - every colour is green

Nokia’s range-topping N8 smartphone already has a fair amount going for it, but Nokia has just added eco-consciousness to the list by announcing a new ‘green’ version of both the N8 and its similarly high-flying C-series compatriot the C7.

Available only through O2 in the UK – via a deal with Spanish parent company Telefonica – the special edition pair come loaded with planet-sensitive content and apps to help raise awareness of environmental issues.

Both also come with a full disclosure from Nokia on the full environmental impact of the handsets. In that respect, Nokia has chosen well in selecting the N8 and C7, as both already qualify as two of the company’s most planet-friendly handsets ever produced.

Both come with power-frugal AMOLED screens, complete with an ambient light sensor. The Nokia N8 is constructed using bio-plastics, while the C7 is the first commercially available phone to use bio-paints.

We’re still waiting on exactly when these eco-sensitive blowers will be available, but we expect you shouldn’t have long to wait.
