Nokia E7 heads up trio of new arrivals The formidable Nokia E7, complete with 4in touchscreen

Nokia has added three new models to its E-series and C-series Symbian^3 smartphone stable.

First up is the E7, a powerhouse of a handset with a 4in OLED touchscreen, 16GB of onboard storage and Nokia’s new CBD (ClearBlack Display) screen technology, which it claims is every bit as good as the Retina Display found on the iPhone 4.

Launched at the annual Nokia World event in London, the E7 is seen by the Finnish phone giant as the spiritual successor to the Nokia 9000 Communicator, and with that 4in screen certainly shares its larger-than-life physical presence. There are plenty of business tools on board for the mobile professional, but an 8in camera and 720p video shooting capability means entertainment isn’t neglected either.

Joining the E7 in the Nokia arrivals lounge is a pair of new faces for the C-series lineup: the C6 and C7. The higher-end C7 is just 10.5mm thick, features a 3.5in AMOLED display, an 8MP camera that can shoot HD video and 8GB of on-board storage. The C6 largely repeats the formula, but is a little narrower and squatter, and is designed to appeal to the more entry-level smartphone user. Like the E7, Nokia CBD screen technology is on board.

The three new arrivals shared the Nokia World spotlight with the soon-to-be-launched Nokia N8, and are set to touch down towards the end of the year.
