Nokia 5800 XpressMusic (Tube) officially launches
Nokia's music monster has finally launched packing some neat media features
It’s been the subject of more rumour than a pop princess and given us teasing glimpses in Hollywood blockbuster Dark Knight and in Britney’s latest video Womanizer, but the Nokia Tube, or 5800 XpressMusic as it will henceforth be known, is finally here.
The tactile blower is Nokia’s first ever touchscreen device bringing with it some extra neato media features and comes packaged with Nokia’s Comes With Music service for unlimited music downloads.
It’s also the first phone to feature Nokia’s new Symbian 5th edition operating system giving rise to a wealth of easy to access drop-down menus, vibration feedback and whizzy web browsing.
One of the platform’s coolest features is the media bar and contacts bar. Simply tap into the media bar for asap access to music, movies and the web. The contacts bar works in the same way giving you access to your closest mates, along with previous texts, emails and blog posts at a glance.
As standard the 5800 has 3G, Wi-Fi and HSDPA straight outta the box along with a 3.2 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera and 8GB microSD card upgradeable to 16GB for up to 12,000 songs.
Movies look great on it thanks to its clear 16:9 ratio widescreen. Topping it off is A-GPS complete with voice guided Nokia Maps navigation skills. Wonderful.
