Nintendo DSi XL unveiled!
The Nintendo DSi XL goes official!
The Nintendo DSi has gone large! Nintendo has just ripped the wrappers off the DSi XL, which features a pair of 4.2-inch screens to replace the existing 3.25-inch displays, not to mention improved battery life of four to five hours on maximum screen brightness. The stylus has also been given the “embiggening” treatment, now resembling a small biro rather than the original DSi’s toothpick-like pointer.
The design itself remains similar, although the DSi XL is a teensy bit thicker and heavier than its predecessor.
The Nintendo DSi XL will launch next month in Japan (where it’ll be called the DSi LL) priced at the equivalent of £135, and it will be coming to the UK in the first quarter of 2010. Nintendo hasn’t given up the UK price yet, but we’ll bring you more details as we get them.

What a rip. Waste of money, definitely avoid. I'd be naffed if I had the DSi.

It would be interesting to see if they use the same type of display for both of the screens up to now the touch screen has had a more pale tint to it, and not as bright (on a solid background for example) - this isn't totally down to the touch sensor, but more to the fact they used a harder wearing screen on the lower, and a 'cheaper' on the upper to save a bit on costs possibly... but that always bugged me... lets see if they have used the same this time :)

Looks good. but your eyes might start hurting after a while and the stylus might be a bit too big so you cant see what you're doing.

This is aimed at older people. Opened, it will be about the size of a video game case.
