Nintendo 3DS TV touching down later this month?
Is Nintendo about to raise the 3DS' game?
Nintendo’s console-based TV service is already making waves over in Japan, and the latest rumour hot off the digital presses is that we could be just weeks away from seeing it here in the UK too.
The Nintendo 3DS TV service lets gamers watch telly directly on their consoles via a dedicated app. It was first announced at the unveiling of the console itself back in January, but we’ve heard precious little since then about the add-on service for the 3D handheld.Until today, that is. Nintendo has invited the UK tech press to attend a special Nintendo 3DS event on July 19, and the wording of the invite leaves little doubt as to what the starring attraction will be. “We would love you to join us on 19th July 2011 for an exclusive Nintendo 3DS event,” the invite reads. “More will be revealed next week, but trust us when we say you won’t believe your eyes!”Back in January it was revealed that Sky and Aardman Animations (of Wallace and Gromit fame) had already signed up to deliver content to the service, and it’s reasonable to expect that list to have grown longer five month down the line. We’ll keep our ear to the ground and let you know as soon as we hear any more.
