Nintendo 3DS demos on the way: 5 games to look out for
Nintendo rarely ever release demos of its upcoming games. From today that trend looks set to change as Nintendo begin releasing demos for Nintendo 3DS games in the UK, starting with Resident Evil: Revelations.
The zombie thriller will be arriving as a demo on the Nintendo 3DS eShop later today, with more exciting titles playable before they hit the shops trickling onto the 3DS soon. Here are the games to look out for…
Resident Evil: Revelations
The first full-feature 3DS game to receive the demo treatment will see players reprising the roll of agent Jill Valentine to explore the dark corridors of an abandoned cruise liner, in search of missing partner Chris Redfield. The 3DS controls decently mimic the feel of a home console Resident Evil game, also delivering on the scares from time-to-time.
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D
Nintendo has yet to confirm when Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D demo will arrive, hopefully in good time before its 8th March release. The Nintendo 3DS version of the PlayStation 2 classic replicates the free-roaming stealth gameplay of the original, with the split-screen format of the Nintendo 3DS making it easier to access weapons and items.
Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games
Another Olympics, another Mario and Sonic-related tie-in. The latest in the Olympic Games series takes place in London, home of the 2012 Olympics where the portly plumber and friends takes on Sonic the Hedgehog and more Sega characters in short burst mini games from athletics to judo and plenty more.
Cooking Mama 4
A Nintendo portable classic returns, for the first time in full 3D. The core gameplay remains similar to past Cooking Mama games. For Nintendo 3DS a wireless function lets up to four virtual chefs cook-off simultaneously.
Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure
This peculiar game is the reason demos exist. It plays like a screen-tapping rhythm game, but instead of merely tapping and swiping to play music, players do do so to accomplish tasks in a multitude of bizarre scenarios that has players jumping rooftops, mimicking poses and karate-chopping bad guys.
What demos of upcoming games would you like to see appear on the Nintendo 3DS eShop?
