Nikon P7000 ultimate Coolpix compact camera revealed
Nikon P7000 – super compact snapper
Nikon has gone official with the much-rumoured P7000 compact camera. And it’s a compact Coolpix camera that’s rocking some serious stats that put it head and shoulders above the usual point-and-shoot crowd.
The Nikon P7000 features some touches only previously found on high-end DSLRs. As well as a pretty impressive 7.1x optical zoom and 10.1 megapixel sensor, there’s ISO sensing up to an impressive 3200 with noise reduction.
But it’s the range of manual options that set the P7000 apart from the crowd. Users can fiddle to their hearts’ content with a full range of manual controls to take your snapping to the next level. There’s also support for RAW format images so that you can edit in uncompressed form. Nikon’s Picture Control feature means that you can take a selection of images with different settings and compare them side by side. You can also edit on the hop on the P7000’s 3-inch screen.
Video-wise, you’ll find 720p video shooting is on board, and there’s an HDMI port for spitting video straight to your TV.
The Nikon P7000 will be on sale on 23 September for £489.

The Nikon is a lovely looking camera - it probably will be the very best that is available, given the smaller sensor (shared with a number of other high-end compacts). I swapped my Canon 500d in for a Panasonic LX3 this year, and can see very little picture quality difference for my needs - I was thinking about upgrading to the LX5, but the Nikon has turned my head and I'll be buying one soon! I really like the feature that allows you to keep the camera level and can't understand why more cameras don't have them - how many good pictures are ruined by wobbly horizons?

I like the look of the nikon coolpix p7000 when it came out then i have looked lots of comments about its very slow raw file transfer that slow down its shot per second the JPEG file transfer is ok. These seem to be the big let down with the Nikon Coolpix P7000.http://digipick.co.uk
