Nikon J1 and V1: The world's smallest interchangeable lens camera!
Nikon has announced a couple of incredibly compact cameras with changeable lenses, including the new Nikon J1, a small sensor mirrorless camera. Claimed to be the world’s smallest interchangeable camera, it looks fantastic.
We’ve seen mirrorless changeable lens cameras from most of the big manufacturers, and Nikon are the latest to add a couple of models to its range.
Called the Nikon J1 and Nikon V1, these incredibly small snappers take the fight to Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and others. The cameras are made out of magnesium, promising build quality to match the style.
You’ll be able to shoot a staggering 10 frames a second with the V1, with other features including a 10-megapixel sensor. You’ll also get a viewfinder on the back – albeit an electronic one – which will please traditionalists.
Both 1 series cameras get a brand new sensor – and although it’s smaller than the sensor found in rivals, it also allows the latest additions to be considerably more compact than its DSLR range.
