Nikon Coolpix S80 gets OLED screen
Nikon S80 – super-svelte compact
Nikon has just outed the Coolpix S80. As well as its high-end P7000 compact Coolpix snapper, this point and shoot model was also on the menu of Nikon releases today.
The Nikon Coolpix S80 might not have the same arsenal of high-end features as the P7000, but it still has a neat trick or two up its sleeve. As well as a 14.1-megapixel sensor, a 5x optical zoom and ISO up to 6400, the S80 rocks a 3.5-inch OLED touchscreen for easy tap-control of settings and imaging. And at 16.5mm thick, it’s also one of the slimmest compacts on the market.
The Touch Shutter functionality allows snappers to focus and take a picture or video by simply touching the screen. You can even use the touch function to edit, annotate or draw on top of your stills. There’s also built-in filters such as a fisheye, colour splash and a 7cm macro mode.
Just like its P7000 stablemate, the S80 records 720p HD video and has an HDMI out.
The S80 will set you back £329.99 and is available in red or black finishes.
