Nike+ iPhone app adds GPS tracking
Nike+ iPhone app – keep on runnin'
Nike has announced a new GPS-enabled Nike+ iPhone and iPod Touch app that does away for the need for special trainers with a GPS sensor.
The newly released Nike+ GPS iPhone app will transfer all the measuring gubbins to your phone – tracking your pace, distances and calories burned and monitoring your routes with a Google Maps hook-up.
The new Nike+ iPhone app is compatible with iPod Touch (2G to current gen) but to get the new Google Maps compatibility you need to be packing an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4. It also, rather oddly, works with iPad should you want to take your tablet out for a run.
Just like the previous Nike+ app, the new iteration will plug straight into the NikePlus online community, Twitter and Facebook so you can share your impressive run stats with the world. There’s also voice feedback, motivational messages from trainers and pro-athletes and the all-important PowerSong feature to let you hear Eye of the Tiger when you need it most.
The new Nike+ app for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch and iPad is out now and costs £1.19 from the iTunes App Store.

It all sounds impressive, but what about Android users. When, if and how much?
