Nike brings 3D to your feet
3D takes a big step forward
We’re always going on about how 3D seems to be popping up everywhere these days, from mobile phones to digital cameras and everywhere in between. But 3D shoes? That really is a first.
Sports brand Nike is the one to have taken the plunge, decking out its new Zoom Kobe VI shoes with a bunch of third-dimensional visual treats in the run-up to basketball’s prestigious All-Star Game.
The shoes themselves, we’re told, feature a 3D pattern that’s only visible if you’re wearing the right glasses, at which point “the kicks literally jump out at you”. The sock liner inside, meanwhile, features a star-lined LA logo to give you that Hollywood feel you’ve always been going for.
Far be it for us to judge, but the idea of a sports shoe whose main feature requires other people to be wearing 3D glasses at the time seems a little odd. But hey, that’s just us – if you feel differently, around $250 in cash will get you your very own 3D footwear.

Very bad. What poor marketing. Or rather, a poor idea - bet they'll sell.
