New Year's Day launch for Vodafone iPhone?
Vodafone's iPhone – coming sooner than you think?
Vodafone insists we won’t be seeing the iPhone on the network before 2010, but it’s looking more and more likely that we won’t have to wait long at all come the new year.
O2’s network exclusivity deal came to an end a month ago, but so far Orange is the only other network to have joined the party. Vodafone has said all along it’ll only be getting involved next year, but with Tesco the latest to have shown its iPhone hand, looks like Vodafone is stepping up its plans.
Fresh from launching a competition last week to win a Flip Video Ultra camcorder just for registering your interest, Vodafone has now made its official Carrier Settings available to download via iTunes.
Anyone using a Vodafone pay-as-you-go SIM on an unlocked iPhone can download the settings to get enhanced Vodafone-specific features, but the software update is also one of the final things Vodafone needs to have in place before officially starting to carry the iPhone.
If you need the reminder, 2010 is now just three and a half weeks away
