New Xbox and new PlayStation 4 set for E3 2012
Gamers rejoice, not one slice of massive news has just rolled in but two. Both the rumoured new Microsoft Xbox console and a follow up to the Sony PS3 are expected to be shown at E3 2012 this June.
The latest report comes from a usually very reliable source that claims this year’s E3 show will be the first time in the show’s history that Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony will go head-to-head showing off new consoles.
New Xbox console coming in 2012
Nintendo had already confirmed that its new Nintendo Wii U will be at the show – while rumours have also pointed to the new Xbox console appearing. Now, says the very reliable MCV, Sony will lose no ground on either – by unveiling the PlayStation 4.
The lead-up to the show has seen plenty of new Xbox rumours emerge, less so than a new PlayStation, although an earlier report did claim that major studios are already developing games for a PS3 successor – lending further fuel to the news.
The PlayStation 3 originally launched a year later than Xbox 360. Now it seems Sony is wasting little time. Pricing details are not expected at the show.
If all this is true, E3 2012 will see a new Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo’s Wii U vying for attention. If that isn’t enough to whet the appetite of gadget-loving gamers, we don’t know what is. Roll on E3 2012.
