Nike's sunglasses will supercharge your sight!

Cyclists might be the bane of drivers and pedestrians everywhere, but spare a thought for the Lycra-loving folk risking life and limb on the car laden lanes. Nike has, and it’s developed a concept for a pair of next-gen shades that give cyclists superhuman vision.

These Nike shades aren’t just for looking smart though – the concept is that they’ll extend the wearer’s field of vision by an eye-opening 25 per cent.

Designed by Nike’s Billy May, the shades’ curved Fresnel lenses give the wearer increased peripheral vision, to help you spy incoming traffic coming from the left or right sooner than previously, eliminating cycle induced road rage. Or at least some.

It’s all based on extra special convex lenses squeezed to make them thinner and more suited to eyewear. No word yet on when this concept could hit the real world, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted on any developments.
