MINI has teamed up with Airstream and Republic of Fritz Hansen to design this awesome car-trailer combo
Check out this special edition model of the new MINI Cooper S Clubman, complete with an original take on the iconic American travel trailer. What’s so special about them? Well MINI’s worked with Airstream and Republic of Fritz Hansen to come up with the new “surfer” look and silver bullet! And it’s gnarly, dude.
The Airstream trailer is 6.8 metres long, so plenty big enough for you to relax in when you’re not hitting the waves. The interior’s been kitted out by design house Republic of Fritz Hansen with a SuperellipseTM table, ringed by four Series 7TM chairs, with an additional two SwanTM chairs in the corner. The trailer even has a “yacht deck” feel, made from high-class wood panel. But the best bit about the trailer? An electric motor allows one side of it to fold down, revealing an integrated day bed for relaxing in the sun while your mates hit the surf.
The special edition Mini Cooper Clubman S meanwhile, continues the surfer theme with a “wetsuit effect” added to the roof and bumpers, and there’s a special roof rack for transporting your boards. Inside the car are specially-made securing shells with purpose-built mounts for storing your sex wax (tee hee) and other sports gear.
The first model’s being showcased in Milan as we type. Hopefully it’ll go into mass production, if not in time for this summer’s swell down at Newquay, then next year’s. Awesome dude.
