New Asus Eee PC outed New Asus Eee PC - brains on a budget

Details of an all-new Asus Eee PC 1001PX netbook have been leaked – and it’s got a huge battery life and low pricetag. Which is nice.

Website Notebook Italia reports that a Asus Eee PC 1001PX is set to be announced in just days, and supports this with what looks like an official pic of the new-look netbook complete with textured carbon-fibre shell.

The 10.1-inch 1001PX will apparently come in two flavours: one with a 250GB hard drive and nine-hour battery, another with 160GB and battery life of five hours. Both will pack 1GB of RAM and the latest Intel Atom N450 processor.

And here’s the best bit – you’ll apparently be able to pick it up for €300 (£270) for a Windows 7 version, while the Windows XP version will cost just €241 (£217), the same price as the very first Eee PC 701 which kicked off the whole netbook craze.

Stay tuned for official information on the new Asus range…
