Forget surround sound, the NEC CRV43 is surround picture!
NEC just threw us a 43-inch curve ball. Curve. Geddit? Anyway. The NEC CRV43 is a 43-inch monitor with a 2,800×900 pixel resolution. The real killer feature here, though, is the fact that it’s curved!
Looking like it almost wants to give you a hug, the NEC CRV43 has actually been doing the rounds since CES last year, but it’s only now been given a release date of July. The hitch? that’s a US release date. It’s also not cheap costing $7,999 (or around £5k for British folk).
Still, we can only hope it makes its way over here, and when it does it’ll be toting a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 0.02ms rapid response, HDMI 1.3 ports. It’s not all glamourous though. That curve means there’s a hefty derriere, measuring a whopping nine inches. We haven’t seen a telly that thick since 1999!
