Magellan has made some excellent GPS devices in the past, straying away from the mainstream and producing gadgets for cyclists, runners, people with boats and other outdoorsy types. The Magellan eXplorist Pro 10 is the latest sat-nav device, and one of the most advanced yet.
The Magellan eXplorist Pro 10 is packed with technology, and is more of a computer or smartphone than a regular sat-nav device. It runs Windows Mobile 6.5 – making it compatible with existing geographical and GPS data collection programs, comes with a 533MHz processor and has 4GB of storage space.
As with previous Magellan products, the Magellan eXplorist Pro 10 should prove virtually indestructible. With a tough rubber casing, and buttons also hidden behind rubber, it’s water proof and perfect for life on a yacht or up a mountain.
With smartphones and apps like Google Maps taking over the regular consumer sat-nav market, the Magellan eXplorist Pro 10 is very much aimed at the professional market.
