Multitouch coming to Asus Eee PC T91
Two new versions of the Eee PC T91 tablet are on the cards.
Asus’ netbook/tablet mash-up the Eee PC T91 is due to get an update, or rather several of them – and with one of two brand new versions destined to get a new touch-sensitive screen offering Apple-style multitouch control.
The multitouch model will be called the Eee PC T91A, and will also feature Windows 7, the slick new edition of Microsoft’s near ubiquitous operating system. While the specifics of the touch controls aren’t yet clear, we’d be surprised if they didn’t allow users to zoom quickly in and out of photos by “pinching” the 8.9-inch screen. Specifications should be in line with the existing T91: an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of solid state memory.
The second new model is the Eee PC T91go, which lacks multitouch but sports GPS, embedded 3G and a digital TV tuner.
Release dates and prices are yet to be confirmed.
