MSI puts the Wind up other netbooks
Sporting a half grand price tag the MSI WInd U115 Hybrid arrives in May
Big news folks. You’ll be able to get wind this May. Ahem. The WInd U115 Hybrid that is – MSI’s netbook with a battery life almost three times that of the MacBook Air.
So, just how long is that battery life? Twelve hours to be precise. That’s the same amount of time it takes to watch three Kevin Costner films, play eight games of football, or complete two marathons back to back (or just one if you’re about as fit as us).
Rocking up on these shores in May, the MSI Wind U115 Hybrid netbook will cost around £499. Now, half a grand may sound a bit pricey for a “lowly” netbook, but consider that the U115 Hybrid has adual storage solution called the Hybrid Storage Solution (hence the netbook’s name), which teams up a 160GB hard drive with 8GB of solid state storage. It’s only when you disable the hard drive, though, that you can get that coveted 12 hour battery life.
And the rest of the specs? Well, it’s certainly no slouch with 1GB of memory, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 4-in-1 card reader, three USB ports, Windows XP and the Intel Menlow platform. The price might put it in the range of budget, full-size laptops, but the MSI Wind U115 Hybrid has enough about it for that not to be a problem.
