MSI GX780 gaming laptop launched

There’s not a lot of choice when it comes to affordable gaming laptops, which is where MSI comes in. The MSI GX780 is a lot cheaper than devices from the likes of Alienware, yet still offers a distinctive design with powerful specs.

Gaming laptops usually stand out when it comes to design, with lots of bright lights a popular option. The keyboard on the MSI GX780 can be split into different sections when it comes to colour, with the backlit keys available in up to 29 different colours.

It’s even possible to change colours in a ‘breathing’ pattern, or in ‘waves’, with different colours highlighted at different times.

More importantly, the 17-inch MSI GX780 isn’t lacking when it comes to performance. There’s a powerful nVidia GeForce GT 555M graphics card, and you can spec up to 16GB of memory. In-keeping with the latest tech, the GX780 also features nVidia’s 3D Vision, letting you watch movies or play compatible games in 3D.

Pricing for the MSI GX780 has yet to be announced.

That looks like a pretty nice laptop. I'd buy one when it goes on sale, but other companies like Medion are putting out budget gaming notebooks. For the time being a very nice piece of kit
