Modern Warfare 3: 5 things you need to know!

Along with the likes of Battlefield 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is one of the most hotly anticipated games of 2011. It’s set to launch just before Christmas, and we can’t wait. Join us after the cut to find out 5 things you need to know about Modern Warfare 3.

Modern Warfare 3 is the latest addition to the Call of Duty series, and it’s set to be one of the biggest launches of the year. Read on to see some of the new features.

Check out our Call of Duty: Black Ops review!

Underwater As with real combat, not all the fighting in Modern Warfare 3 is set to happen on dry land. Instead, you’ll face some of your battles as part of a Seal team, swimming in and under water around Manhatten. The eery quietness is broken by breathing equipment and radio commentary, but it all adds up to an incredibly tense and atmospheric part of the game.

Release You’ll have just over a month to wait for the release of Modern Warfare 3. It’s set to launch in Europe – on the PC, Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 – on November 8th, so you’ll have 34 days to count those pennies!

Mind the gap! You won’t just be battling on the American side of the Atlantic, either, with Modern Warfare making its way over to London, and Canary Wharf. Although we didn’t particularly want to see London burn, it is nice to get in on the action, and to see other parts of the world recognised rather than just America.

Paris If fighting in London or New York doesn’t do it for you, you’ll also be able to take on the City of Romance. A leaked video shows that Modern Warfare 3 will be heading to Paris, and it looks spectacular.

Kill Confirmed There are a host of changes offered by Modern Warfare 3, and one of them is a completely new game mode called Kill Confirm. The scoring is changed for this new game mode, and it’s based on Team Deathmatch. You’ll drop points if you lose a set of dog tags, and you’ll be able to gain points if you find and pick up others. You’ll also be able to stop other people from gaining points by collecting the dog tags of fallen comrades.

I've ordered it at my nearest game store. I think that this game is a success because of it's graphics and missions, but I have to say that the best COD game that is made has to be COD 4. Regards, Cj

MW3 is way oderdue. I'm so fed up with MW2! i've tried the Battlefield 3 Beta, but it doesn't seem to have the same drama, atmosphere and kill satisaction as MW2. There is no controller feedback when you hit/injure an enemy, which seems like a huge omission
