Microsoft: iPad just isn't the business

Microsoft: iPad just isn't the business So THAT's how to beat the iPad...

An in-depth Microsoft document has leaked on the internet containing a detailed strategy for overcoming Apple’s supremacy in the tablet market, focusing mainly on Windows-based tablets’ superiority as business devices.

A 10-slide PowerPoint presentation – itself perhaps not the most confidence-inspiring choice – reveals that Microsoft considers the Windows user interface more familiar – and therefore better – than Apple’s iOS interface, despite the latter being heralded as a triumph of ease of use.

Microsoft also believes a wider choice in form factors, compatibility with more business software and the ability to use apps offline further give Windows-based tablets the edge, while inevitable mention is made of Windows’ support for Flash.

However, it seems Microsoft’s own customers have provided the response as to why reality hasn’t quite matched its ideals. According to the presentation, they suggest the iPad’s form factor, intuitive interface and long battery life are the keys behind its appeal.

Far be it for us to argue with Microsoft’s reasoning, but we’d suggest those strengths might trump the ability to run Word and play Flash games.

The iPad has without doubt a brilliant user interface. Unfortunately IMO it's only a half-built machine. With virually zero connectivity it is for me a no-hoper.

i agree with you, however, with the release of the 2nd gen iPad and most likely more to come, i believe the iPad has a massive potential for extra connections such as micro-USB, and maybe for generations to come it can possibly support a simplified or standard version of OS X. But the whole OS X thing does defeat the point of the current view of the iPad, the iPad being a larger, more satisfactory model of the iPod Touch.
