Microsoft Courier tablet cancelled
Microsoft's Courier tablet is being put on ice
Microsoft has cancelled plans to make an iPad rival. Called the Courier, it had been rumoured for months, but now execs at the company behind Windows 7 and Xbox 360 have decided that it’s not worth the hassle.
The Courier has been at the forefront of concept design for the best part of a year. The idea was to offer a folding, book-like tablet, which would let you use your fingers or a digital pen to browse the web, read newspapers or just kick back and watch a film.
However, its high-end tech would have led to a hefty price tag, perhaps even pricier than the fabled Apple iPad.
It’s believed that this this is the key reason for Microsoft cancelling the Courier and keeping its focus on Windows 7 tablets from HP, as well as the forthcoming Windows Phone 7.

I wonder if Microsoft ever had genuine plan to release this...?
