Medion releases budget Blu-ray lappie
Check out HD movies on Medion’s affordable Blu-ray laptop
If you ask the Chinese they’ll say that 2008 was the year of the rat. If you ask us, we’ll say it’s been the year of the cheap laptop. With the likes of the Asus Eee PC helping prices (and sizes) tumble, it’s no wonder Medion decided to get in on the act with this Blu-ray-boasting Akoya P8610. Plus, it won’t spread the bubonic plague.
Okay, it’s not as small as the Eee PC (but then what laptop is?), but for £799 you get an 18.4-inch, 1680×945 display and a laptop that’ll just about fit in your manbag. Other notable features include an Nvidia Geforce 9600M GS graphics card, Dolby Theater audio, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB RAM, 320GB hard drive and a digital TV tuner.
So what if Akoya sounds like it’s some sort of super-vegetable. But we’re not going to eat it. We just want to look at it…
