Marantz SA-15S2: bringing CDs back!

Fwd Tech  Wednesday 16 September 2009

Marantz SA-15S2: bringing CDs back! What's super-sexy and sounds like an Angel? No, not Jason. The Marantz SA-15S2!

Not satisfied with the audio quality you get from Spotify or MP3s? You, my friend, should check out the Marantz SA-15S2 CP player. It takes your discs and spins them like a spider expertly spins a web.

So what’ the low-down on the Marantz SA-15S2? Well, firstly it looks amazing. It’s the same design as its predecessor – the SA-761 – and is the sort of deck you’d expect to see in some Russian oligarch’s mansion.

So what’s different from its predecessor? Well, the SA-15S2 packs in an improved power supply that delivers better clarity, a display off function that minimises high frequency noise interface, and two filter options for regular CDs and SACDs. What all that means in English is sound quality that’ll make your ears wiggle with job.

Another difference between the SA-15S2 and SA-761 is the price. The good news is that it’s a lot cheaper than its predecessor’s £5,000 price tag. The bad news is it’s still £1,699! Still, at least you know you’re buying quality.

SACD is a crying shame that not meaning have fully taken the time to set back and enjoy from.. CD's to me are still the best option to enjoy music how ever people fail to fully understand how to setup a system and provide the best sound quality. Bearing in mine: Room, cables, Speakers and of course the Source i.e SACD or DVD-Audio 24bit 96khz or in this case a CD.. As for the The Marantz SA-15S2 above only few are lucky enough to buy and enjoy, i'm afraid i am not one of the few.. However i still believe and support High end Gadget HI-Fi Gear that focus on providing even more better sounds from a CD.. I would love to have read on how well this would sounded next to a Denon Hi-Fi CD system? or another within it's range with which speakers used too ?
