M-Edge Guardian waterproofs the Kindle
M-Edge Guardian: for bath-friendly Kindle fun
There has been no shortage of e-Reader news coming out of this year’s CES, and one product that really caught the eye was M-Edge’s Guardian Case for the Amazon Kindle.
One of the key appeals of the traditional book is that you can take it just about everywhere. Well, the Guardian has taken a big step towards making the book’s digital equivalent just as versatile – it lets you take your Kindle into every gadget’s most feared territory: water.
The waterproof casing gives protection over your Kindle in up to a metre of water, with flexible buttons on the front making sure you don’t lose any of its functions.
A hinged lid keeps the Kindle in place, and carefully placed air pockets even allow it to float on its own, so you can settle in for some hands-free aquatic reading from above, or even – theoretically – from below. The Guardian is only available for the smaller 6in Kindle, and comes in six colours. Like so much of the fare shown off at CES, shipping is pencilled in for the spring, and a price has yet to be set.
