Lovefilm streaming comes to Sony and Samsung
Film rental service Lovefilm has had its new movie streaming service demoed on the new generation of home entertainment devices recently.
We already knew that Sony Bravia Internet Video TVs and Blu-ray boxes were set to get Lovefilm movie streaming, but it’s now been revealed that this service will be available from 17 March.
The Lovefilm service will be served as a widget on the Sony Bravia Internet Video service, and you can browse an search Lovefilm titles on the interface, although you won’t be able to see and manage your rental list until April apparently.
Similarly the LoveFilm streaming service is also arriving on web-connected Samsung TVs, via the Samsung Internet@TV widget, and even features a Cover Flow style scrolling option, and the ability to search by title or actor/director. The Samsung service is expected in April.

I have spoken to lovefilm and they have said that they have delayed the launch of the Samsung widget. They could not give me a date of the release. Sky News have a Widget now!

HELP! I'm confused i bought a Samsung LED tv 46B7020 with the added service of "internet@TV" wow i thought but oh! No! to utilise the new widgets like Lovefilm i need to ditch my £1800 new tv just after 8 months and spend another £1800 to get another Samsung TV 46C7020 yes it looks the same but be careful the "C" is what is important and this allows you to fully use the "internet@TV" were as the "B" class you cant. if anyone can shead light on this i would greatly appriciated it as samsung can't. thanks Jon

I'm pretty peed off as well, I bought a 40B8000 earlier this year which is advertised as having the internet@tv feature but alas does not support love film. I just bought a BD-C7500 Blu-ray player which was advertised as having internet@tv. It does have a lovefilm widget but it doesn't work! It just says "Coming Soon". The blu-ray player has been on the market for nearly 10 months now, I guess Soon is measured in years in Korea. Very disappointed with Samsung's advertising of "internet@tv" and appalled at the time it is taking them to provide a lovefilm widget. (The BBC iplayer widget doesn't even appear yet).
