Logitech outs world's first solar keyboard

Logitech outs world's first solar keyboard Just in case you need to spend three months in the dark...

Another day, another solar gadget. Well, OK two in a row anyway. Just yesterday we revealed Philips’ new Econova TV with its solar-powered remote, now we have Logitech’s K750 solar wireless keyboard.

A pair of solar panels dominate the top of the low-profile K750 above the keys, and even ambient room light is enough to charge the cells with enough juice to power the keyboard for a full three months without light.

You won’t need to keep an eye on the calendar either, as Logitech has equipped the K750 with a battery level monitor, as well as a low power alert in the unlikely event that you do start to run low.

The wireless K750 is also built of fully recyclable plastic, meaning it’s not just the energy it runs on that’s sustainable.

If you’re looking to give your computing rig a bit of a solar touch, you’ll have to wait until January for the Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 to go on sale. You’ll also need a spare £69.99 left over after Christmas.
