Liquid Image unveils 5-megapixel snorkel-cam
Sub-aqua shutterbugs are in luck!
Divers who want to capture the denizens of the deep for posterity will soon have a (relatively) hands-free option: Liquid Image’s UDCM310 snorkel mask, which sports a 5-megapixel snapper on top.
The camera can capture both still shots and videos, the latter at 720×480. Buttons on the side of the camera fire the shutter, and footage and snaps are stored onto the 16MB of memory – but don’t worry, this paltry figure can be upped via a microSD card slot. Power comes from a pair of AAA batteries.
The mask will work to a depth of 33 feet, which is pretty impressive, and power will automatically turn off if you don’t take a shot or video clip after two minutes.
There’s no UK release date or price for the UDCM310 yet, but it costs the equivalent of £110 in Japan.
