Like gold? The Vertu Boucheron's covered in it!
Forget the Mobiado 105GMT, this is the gold mobile we want…
You wait all your life for a gold mobile phone then two pop up in two days. After Mobiado announced the 105GMT Gold yesterday, we’ve got another brilliant bullion blower – the Vertu Boucheron 150.
Made from solid gold to celebrate the 150th anniversary of jewelers Boucheron, this handset took 1,000 hours (or 2,000 epsiodes worth of Neighbours) to cut its unique, stone shape. Then a further 700 hours (or 1,4000 episodes worth of Eastenders) to hand polish it, and finally a mere 500 hours (one Kevin Costner film) to hand build it.
With a sapphire crystal keypad, high-speed 3G connectivity and plush wooden case – made from walnut tree no less – that makes the signature Vertu ringtone when opened, this is definitely the most extravagant mobile we’ve ever seen. The price? It’s still unknown, but it’s likely to cost more than your average two-bed house in Nottingham. Pretty pricey, then.
