LG outs ePaper in 19-inch and colour options
LG ePaper – the future of displays?
LG has been making new strides in the production of new ePaper – and it’s just announced the fruit of its labours – a 9.7-inch colour screen and a 19-inch flexible one.
Epaper is used in most eBook readers and could be used in some future tablet products, and given that LG produce the screens for the iPad and the Kindle, this could give a good indication of what we’ll all be prodding in the near future.
First up, is a 9.7-inch display that can support colour representation – a rare occurrence in ePaper. It looks as if our next-gen eBook readers could finally give us a spectrum of hues.
Next, is a 19-inch flexible ePaper, measuring a super-svelte 0.3 mm and a weighs of 130 grams, making it the most flexible ePaper yet. Can we expect roll-up eNewspapers or eReaders in the future?
What do you think? Is this the future of eReader displays? Let us know below…

Well I can't imagine how the print factories are gonna be able to survive this turmoil. However, I would think this would be fantastic. Something that is impossible to believe it and they come up with something like this.

Good news for trees ! I think in the future people will laugh at how much effort was put into making newsprint and how it was thrown away after being read. This is the future in my opinion.

I love the irony In ancient times we moved from stone tablets to scrolls ... anyone see a pattern emerging? As Darth Vader might say "now the circle is complete"
