Lens-swapping Panasonic camcorder priced
Yes, it's every bit as pricey as it looks
We’ve written before about Panasonic’s awesome-looking AG-AF100 lens-swapping full HD camcorder before, and now we’ve finally been given the details we’ve been waiting for – when we can get our hands on one, and what it will cost.
To refresh your memory, the AG-AF100 is very much a pro-spec camcorder, recording footage in the highest-quality 24Mbps AVCHD format – in either 1080/60i or 1080/30p frame rates – as well as the more familiar 1080/24p standard.
It’s a Micro Four Thirds affair, and not only offers the unique flexibility of interchangeable lenses but also packs a large imager for shallower depth of field and a wider field of view. That should appeal to more professional sensibilities, as should a whole bevy of pro-grade connectivity options.
As you’ve no doubt gathered by now, the words “entry level” aren’t likely to ever be used in any sentence involving the AG-AF100, and with a Japanese price tag clocking in at the equivalent of around £6,400 when it goes on sale in December, that’s no surprise.
