Leica S2: the £16k camera!
We Leica the S2. The price? Not so much. And why are we talking in an Italian accent?
When we talk about the Leica S2 DSLR camera we could mention that awesome 37.5-megapixel sensor. Or we could tell you about the ultra-fast MAESTRO image processor. But it keeps coming back to one fact: that £15,996 price tag!
The Leica S2 is definitely not the sort of camera you’re going to be taking a muddy bog of a festival. Although, if you’re buying the Leica S2 in the first place, we imagine you’re not the sort of person that spends a weekend in a tent in a boggy marsh. Anyway, we digress. The Leica S2 is one high-end camera. That massive 37.5-megapixel lens will take pictures of houses, that can literally be printed out to the size of a house!
The Leica S2 has a three-inch screen around the back for framing up your snaps, as well as autofocus, and that ultra-fast MAESTRO image processor, which ensures snaps are as sharp as a rapier.
For a further £4,000 (what’s an extra £4k when you’re spending £16,000 already?) you can upgrade to the Leica S2-P, which has a sapphire glass monitor and “S-Body Platinum Service”, whatever that is. Leica’s going to spill the beans ahead of its release in September.
For all its amazing features, we keep coming back to the Leica S2’s price. But hey, if you’ve got a spare £16k and you’re in the market for a high-end DSLR, then this is ideal.
