Lady Gaga and Polaroid launch Grey Label
The sun always shines on TV
In one of the more unusual match-ups in technology, Lady Gaga and camera firm Polaroid have come together for a second year running to launch the Grey Label line, a range of Polaroid products apparently designed – or partly so – by the pop queen herself.
Undoubtedly the most interesting of the three products unveiled at Polaroid’s stand at CES yesterday were the GL20 Camera Glasses, which feature twin LCDs either side of a small camera, both hidden behind a pair of suitably fashionable oversized shades.
Debates over their fashion merit aside, the LCDs appear to cover your vision completely, effectively replacing your real view of the world with an on-screen version, which we rather suspect is the point.
A far more practical offering is the GL30 Instant Digital Camera, which features an on-board printer for old-school Polaroid japes for the digital era, and the GL10 Instant Mobile Printer, though details on the latter pair are still thin on the ground. The printer will be launched in May, with the other two Grey Label products to follow later in the year.
