Ladies and gentlemen: the Royal Wii

Ladies and gentlemen: the Royal Wii Consoles don't get more bling than Her majesty's golden Wii

What do you get the woman who has everything? How about a gold-plated Nintendo Wii? That’s what was sent to Her Majesty the Queen by THQ to promote its new Wii title, BIG Family Games.

The reasoning behind this gold monstrosity of a console is that BIG Family Games is the ultimate family game and the Royal Family is arguably the “most important family in the country”, so THQ had to send them a copy of the game and a console worthy of Her Majesty.

The Queen has been spotted sporting an iPod in the past, given to her by the Obamas, but whether she likes to take part in the more active world of the Wii remains to be seen. And the game? Well, BIG Family Games is a collection of 24 mini games such as golf and tennis. Anyone for Wii Sports?

One thing’s for sure, it brings new meaning to the phrase the Royal Wii. We know that’s the second time we’ve done that joke, but we liked it so much the first time we thought we’d do it again.
