Korg announces Kaossilator Pro touchpad synth
Welcome to my new pad
Attention, electronic music makers: Korg has given its Kaossilator touchpad synth a design refresh, a bunch of new features and a “Pro” moniker bunged on the end to give it fresh new appeal for 2010.
Visually this compact sound-production box leaves behind the eye-melting yellow and pink neon of the existing Kaossilator for a more refined gunmetal look closely resembling Korg’s existing Kaoss KP3 sampler.
But it’s under the surface where all those tunes are waiting to be released. Bedroom musos get 200 on-board sounds and 15 effects, all assignable to the 8×8-button touchpad. A further eight physical buttons above the screen can be programmed with your personal favourites, while you record a quartet of layerable loops too.
Among the other key features are a gate arpeggiator, vocoder and a choice between SD card, USB or MIDI connectivity.
Korg’s latest cut-size musical wonder will be out in March, with the price expected to be around the £350 mark.

It looks a bit like that thing little boots was using on the Jonathan Roos show a couple of months ago. Is it related?
